Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Troy Larson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Babboon Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thunder dives in and scores a takedown into Larson's guard.
Thunder is looking to pass into half guard but Larson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Larson is in guard.

Larson wanted to stand there but Thunder had control of the position.
Larson throws a big right hand that misses.
Thunder is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Larson is controlling him.

Thunder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Larson wanted to stand there but Thunder had control of the position.
Thunder is looking to stand up but Larson isn't so interested in that idea.

Larson tries to stand but Thunder is controlling from the bottom.
Thunder lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Larson wants to get back to his feet but Thunder is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Thunder stands and throws Larson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Thunder wants to stand but Larson is controlling his arm.
Thunder creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Larson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Larson wants to control but Thunder postures up.
Check out the look on Thunder's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Larson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thunder is putting a hurting on Larson here, landing some big shots from side control.
Thunder connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Larson some visible discomfort.
Larson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Larson regains half guard, as Thunder was trying to land strikes.
Thunder stops Larson from getting back to his feet.
Nice strikes from Thunder there.
Thunder thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Larson's head.
Thunder is looking to stall here but Larson recovers full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thunder trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Thunder slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Thunder tries to move into full mount but can't pass Larson's legs.
Thunder working away.
Thunder throws an elbow but Larson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Thunder lands an elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thunder throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Larson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Thunder throwing shots but Larson is blocking nicely.
Larson is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thunder in particular looking to stall.
Thunder passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Larson!
Thunder lands a heavy elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thunder looking to finish Larson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Larson!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Babboon Thunder dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Thunder tries to advance to mount but Larson denies him.
Thunder working the body and head with strikes.


It looks like Troy Larson has been cut.
Thunder lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.


Larson is rocked!
Thunder is looking to take a break and control but Larson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Thunder has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Larson!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee warns Larson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Thunder lands a big elbow - Larson is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Larson is forced to tap out!
