Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Simoes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raphael Fernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor Simoes!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simoes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fernandez swivels and escapes.
Fernandez throws a head kick but Simoes moves out of range.
Simoes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fernandez, pushing him back against the cage.
Simoes is trying to pull guard but Fernandez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Fernandez wants to get back to striking at distance but Simoes won't allow it.
Fernandez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fernandez tries to keep at a distance but Simoes has taken the fight into the clinch.
Simoes jumps guard but Fernandez stands there with Simoes around his waist. Simoes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Raphael Fernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Simoes.
Fernandez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fernandez is pushing Simoes up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Simoes is trying to force a seperation but Fernandez has the dominant position.
Fernandez prevents a takedown attempt there.
Simoes tries to pull guard but Fernandez holds him up against the cage and eventually Simoes drops back down to his feet.

Simoes has Fernandez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fernandez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Fernandez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Simoes.
Fernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Simoes tries to pull guard but Fernandez holds him up against the cage and eventually Simoes drops back down to his feet.
Simoes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Simoes drives through and clinches with Fernandez against the cage.
Fernandez tries to break the clinch but Simoes is controlling the position.
Simoes prevents Fernandez from breaking the clinch.
Fernandez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fernandez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Simoes napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Simoes is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Fernandez is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Fernandez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Simoes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Simoes is trying to reverse the position but instead Fernandez has taken his back - oops!
Fernandez lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Simoes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Fernandez gets his way!
Simoes trying to control the action but Fernandez just sinks the hooks in.

Fernandez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Simoes knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Simoes for a finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simoes is trying to roll into a better position but Fernandez has get a rear naked choke and Simoes is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
