Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quin Kenobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Summers comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Stranger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Nathan Summers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Quin Kenobi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nathan Summers!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Summers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kenobi shoots for a takedown but Summers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Summers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Summers showed some decent athleticism there.
Kenobi is pressing down on Summers's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kenobi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kenobi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Summers throwing strikes but missing.
Summers trying to control the position from guard on top but Kenobi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kenobi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Summers manages to get himself to full guard.

Kenobi is trying to control the action in half guard but Summers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kenobi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Summers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kenobi.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Summers is looking to improve his position.

Summers missing with punches from the bottom.
Kenobi tries to pass to full mount but Summers defends it.
Kenobi wants to control but Summers is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kenobi is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Summers takes a swing at Kenobi's ribcage but misses.
Kenobi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Some wild striking there from Summers.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kenobi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kenobi swats away the attempt to clinch by Summers.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Summers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kenobi counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Summers!
Summers is trying to get back to half guard.
Summers is not content to let Kenobi control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Quin Kenobi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kenobi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Summers staying out of range there.

Kenobi feints and as Summers raises his hands in defense, Kenobi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kenobi trying to control the position from guard on top but Summers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Summers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Summers is looking for a triangle but Kenobi pushes his legs off easily.
Kenobi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Summers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kenobi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Summers has tightened it up now! Kenobi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nathan Summers!
After the fight, Nathan Summers was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
