Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Horace Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Sakuraba will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Horace Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anderson Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba tries to clinch up.

Sakuraba moves into range and clinches up with Sosa.

Sosa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sosa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sakuraba working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sosa's head.
Sakuraba controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sosa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sakuraba trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sosa's guard.

Sosa keeping moving, preventing Sakuraba from controlling successfully.
Sosa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sakuraba sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sosa avoids the head kick by Sakuraba.
Sosa wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Sosa gets tackled into the cage by Sakuraba. Sakuraba maintains the clinch.

Sakuraba tightens his grip and picks Sosa up, before dumping him to the ground. Sosa manages to land in guard.

Sakuraba controls from within his opponent's guard.
Sakuraba slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sakuraba misses with the ground and pound.
Sosa is trying to improve his position.
Sakuraba tries to stand but Sosa is controlling his head.
Sosa really is a fat lump.

Sakuraba tries to advance to mount but Sosa denies him.
Sakuraba trying to control the position but Sosa is working away.

Sakuraba is trying to get an arm triangle but Sosa is defending well.
Sakuraba happy to just control the position for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sakuraba throws an elbow but Sosa slips to the side and avoids it well.
A lull in the action here as Sakuraba stalls from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sakuraba lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Sakuraba dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sakuraba. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Sosa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sakuraba controls the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sosa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sakuraba paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sakuraba is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

It looks like Sakuraba is going to stand back up.

Sosa is defending against the submission attempts here by Sakuraba.
Sakuraba content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sosa is trying to control but Sakuraba manages to pass to mount!

Anderson Sakuraba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sakuraba drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sakuraba wants to control from the top but Sosa keeps moving.
Sakuraba's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sakuraba is looking to stand up but Sosa won't let him.
Sakuraba passes into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sakuraba blocks the strikes from Sosa.

Sakuraba stalling away here and it's allowed Sosa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Sosa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sakuraba has passed into side control.
Sosa tries to bench press Sakuraba off him but Sakuraba keeps the position.

Sakuraba looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
A lull in the action here.

Sosa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sakuraba wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sakuraba trying to control the action but Sosa is working from the bottom.

Sakuraba tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sosa is looking to reverse the position.

Sakuraba controlling the position.
Sakuraba is looking to take a break and control but Sosa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sakuraba cracks Sosa with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sakuraba wants to control but Sosa is keeping him busy.
Sakuraba in side control, throwing shots but Sosa defends.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sakuraba fails with a takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sakuraba darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Anderson Sakuraba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sakuraba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
