Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Shevchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sergei Shevchenko!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
King is chipping away with strikes.
King is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Shevchenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shevchenko takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

King is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shevchenko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

King decides to stand back up.
King keeps the fight on the outside.
Shevchenko tries to clinch but King is having none of it.
Shevchenko fails in his attempt to clinch.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Shevchenko has hold of King's hands but King slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
King controlling the action here.

King stands up and beckons Shevchenko to join him on the feet.
Shevchenko tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance.
Shevchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but King swats him away and circles back towards the center.

King pulls out of a head kick attempt.

King tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Shevchenko manages to circle out of the way.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shevchenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shevchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King keeps the fight on the outside.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

King appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
King keeps the fight on the outside.
King drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shevchenko sprawls and moves away.
Shevchenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shevchenko tries to clinch but King is having none of it.
It looked like King was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael King dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Shevchenko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. King manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shevchenko can do to turn this around?
King shoots in looking for a takedown but Shevchenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shevchenko keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

King has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shevchenko is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. King yanks on the arm and Shevchenko is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by King.
