Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Angel Ricci!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ricci shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ribiero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ricci feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Aldo Ribiero will probably get the nod.

Aldo Ribiero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ricci is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ribiero tries to counter with a takedown but Ricci is quick to defend against it.
Ribiero is looking to land body kicks.
Ricci throws a chopping leg kick but Ribiero manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ribiero can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Ribiero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ricci, pushing him back against the cage.
