PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachery Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex has chosen Godsmack - Cryin' Like A Bitch as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rob Rex is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rex moves into the clinch successfully.
Rex looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hardy with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Rex managing to block the knees to the body from Hardy.

Hardy decides to pull guard.

Hardy has his foot on Rex's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rex works his way back into a safe position though.

Hardy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rex has picked Hardy up and slammed him! Hardy can't keep hold of the triangle and Rex manages to pass to side control!
Hardy is looking to reverse the position.

Rex working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardy is looking to improve his position.
Hardy is pressing down on Rex's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hardy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rex gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rex wants to control from the top but Hardy keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rex looking to sit in guard and control but Hardy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rex wants to get back to his feet but Hardy passes into half guard.

Hardy decides to stand up.
Hardy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hardy can't find room to land a body shot as Rex controls the action.
Hardy missing with knees to the body.
Hardy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rex is defending well for now.

Hardy manages to pull guard.

Hardy looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rex is defending well. Hardy quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rex has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hardy celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
