The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Boar takes the fight into the clinch.
De Boar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Alvares Pereira has him pressed against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by De Boar.
De Boar tries to break free but Alvares Pereira pushes him back against the cage.
De Boar keeps control of Alvares Pereira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Alvares Pereira manages to break the clinch.

De Boar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvares Pereira, pushing him back against the cage.
De Boar prevents a body shot from Alvares Pereira.

Alvares Pereira pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvares Pereira tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Alvares Pereira has De Boar pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alvares Pereira pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending De Boar tumbling to the mat - Alvares Pereira dives into De Boar's guard.
