Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Dillashaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Not Afraid - Eminen. Kyle Dillashaw has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Diego Sanchez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Sanchez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Dillashaw!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dillashaw is trying to defend but Sanchez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sanchez works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sanchez controlling the position easily from mount.
Dillashaw wants to hold on but Sanchez pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez trying to control but Dillashaw is having none of it.

Dillashaw working to try and regain half guard.
Sanchez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Dillashaw throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Dillashaw is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dillashaw is squirming around, avoiding Sanchez's attempts to control the action.

Sanchez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sanchez.
Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt.
Dillashaw lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sanchez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dillashaw tries to avoid it but Sanchez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dillashaw to the ground. Dillashaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sanchez shoots in and bounces Dillashaw off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dillashaw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sanchez controls the pace.

Dillashaw is looking to pass Sanchez's guard but actually Sanchez recovers to full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sanchez holds on and takes a little breather.

Sanchez gets to his feet - Dillashaw follows without any prompting.

Dillashaw leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dillashaw tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dillashaw shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dillashaw misses with a body shot

and Sanchez counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dillashaw!

Sanchez decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sanchez has been working on his balance at The Fortress, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Dillashaw.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sanchez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dillashaw slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Dillashaw is keeping the position.
Sanchez passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dillashaw has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanchez is working away from the top position though.

Sanchez wants to work for an arm triangle but Dillashaw is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sanchez is trying to control. Dillashaw wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Dillashaw tries to get to full guard but Sanchez has control of the leg.
Dillashaw is looking to control Sanchez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dillashaw avoid being mounted?

Sanchez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dillashaw is just riding it out for now. Sanchez eventually gives up the hold.
Dillashaw moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sanchez stops Dillashaw from standing up.
Dillashaw thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Dillashaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sanchez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dillashaw was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanchez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dillashaw controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
