Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Zawadzki!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zawadzki has his takedown stuffed
and Helm counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Zawadzki moves into the clinch.

Zawadzki has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Helm uses from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zawadzki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Zawadzki is looking for a triangle but Helm pushes his legs off easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zawadzki holds on and takes a little breather.

Zawadzki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Helm is one step ahead there.

Zawadzki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Helm defends it easily.
Zawadzki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zawadzki wants to work for an arm triangle but Helm is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Helm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zawadzki on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Zawadzki shoots in but Helm avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Zawadzki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Helm tries to avoid it but Zawadzki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Helm to the ground. Helm escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jonathon Helm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Zawadzki.
Zawadzki takes one to the side of the head.


It looks like David Zawadzki has been cut.

Helm lands a big right hand that sends Zawadzki crashing to the mat! Helm stays standing though and waves Zawadzki back to his feet!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Helm scores with a counter punch that sends Zawadzki to the canvas! Helm smells blood - he's punishing Zawadzki with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Zawadzki has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathon Helm!
A victorious Jonathon Helm thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
In defeat, David Zawadzki stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would fight better in the future. I didn't show all of my skills tonight.'.
