Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaude Tu Shaude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tu Shaude lands a nice shot to the body.
Tu Shaude misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Medina gets a takedown into half guard.
Medina stops Tu Shaude from getting back to his feet.
Medina throwing shots but Tu Shaude is blocking nicely.

Tu Shaude is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Medina pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Medina perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Medina has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Medina is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Tu Shaude tries to control but Medina manages to take his back.

Tu Shaude is covering up but some of the strikes from Medina are getting through and doing damage.
You can see the frustration on Tu Shaude's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Medina is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Medina gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Medina gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Medina apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Tu Shaude shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Medina but Medina pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tu Shaude scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Medina gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tu Shaude counters with a left and a right that stings Medina.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nice sprawl there from Tu Shaude as Medina shoots in.
Tu Shaude tries to close the distance and clinch but Medina swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Medina displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tu Shaude.

Medina is rocked!

Tu Shaude forces Medina back against the cage and clinches.
Oh Medina is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tu Shaude creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Medina with a big uppercut! Medina tries to clinch up but Tu Shaude pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Medina to the mat! Medina covers up and Tu Shaude unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
