Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ian Odonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mikel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Mikel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mikel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mikel throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Odonnell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mikel is fighting to break Odonnell's control of his arms but Odonnell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mikel scoring with punches to the head and body.
Mikel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Odonnell trying to keep a closed guard but Mikel is proving a slippery customer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mikel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mikel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Odonnell is proving hard to escape from.
Mikel trying to control the position from guard on top but Odonnell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Odonnell has his takedown stuffed
and Mikel counters with a straight that turns Odonnell's legs to rubber! Mikel pushes forward with more strikes and Odonnell goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
