Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Shevchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sergei Shevchenko!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a kick to the body.

King clinches up against the cage.
King drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shevchenko pulls his leg out and moves away.
King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King attempts a counter takedown but Shevchenko avoids it well and moves away.
Shevchenko wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance.
King throws a big counter combination but Shevchenko scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Shevchenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shevchenko tries to clinch up.
King throwing a counter right hand but Shevchenko manages to avoid it.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into Shevchenko's guard.
King content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

King stands and steps away. Shevchenko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King tries to counter with a takedown but Shevchenko is quick to defend against it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shevchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.

King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shevchenko on his heels. He'll look to pass Shevchenko's guard now, I'm sure.
King controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Shevchenko is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.

and King counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shevchenko!
Shevchenko seems a little lost for a moment, as King dominates the positioning.
King scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shevchenko to see if he's OK.
King misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
King is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've been hearing good reports from King's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shevchenko can't do much from the bottom here.
King controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Shevchenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Shevchenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
King just content to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Shevchenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.
King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shevchenko as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shevchenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
King misses with a head kick.
Shevchenko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
King keeps the fight on the outside.

Shevchenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

King gets a takedown into half guard.
King is breathing heavily.
Shevchenko is trying to stand.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Shevchenko is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute King jumps into side control!

King wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
King keeps the fight on the outside.
King appears to be looking for a big counter.
Shevchenko doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.
Shevchenko moves in looking to clinch but King pushes him off.

King bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

King stands up.
Sergei Shevchenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King keeps the fight on the outside.

King has Shevchenko up against the cage in a clinch.

King successfully pulls guard.

King has his feet on Shevchenko's thighs here. He's pushed Shevchenko off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Shevchenko screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
