Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Dority (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Cliff Richard - Summer Holiday as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Dority!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dority takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Dority catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Dority uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dority looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Dority misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dority throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dority looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely.
A little jabbing left from Gracie on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Dority clinches with his opponent.
Gracie landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Dority is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Gracie is keeping busy.
Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dority smiles and moves away.
Dority slips under a jab.
Dority looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Dority connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dority lands a body shot.
Dority tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Dority saw that one coming.
Gracie blocks a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dority lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Dority moves away from the strike by Gracie.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dority manages to avoid it.

Dority closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Knees to the body from Gracie.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie is trying to pull guard but Dority has him pressed against the cage.
Gracie tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Gracie lands with a left to the head.
Dority is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Dority stalling in the clinch but Gracie improves position.
Dority is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Dority has a couple of punches blocked by Gracie.
Dority doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Gracie using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Gracie throws a knee to the head but misses.
Dority is stalling here.
Dority lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gracie or not.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dority lands a head shot.
Dority lands a jab to Gracie's midsection.
Gracie takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Dority really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gracie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dority throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.
Gracie swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
An attempted straight right counter from Dority misses the target.
Dan Dority seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dority jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A little jabbing left from Gracie on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Dority misses with a lunging right hand
and Gracie counters with a nice uppercut.
Dority misses with a two punch combination.

Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dority is positioning himself well to prevent Gracie advancing to mount.
Dority is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Dority dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A left lands for Gracie.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dority throws a combination that misses
and Gracie counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Dan Dority has been cut.
Dority closes the distance but Gracie moves to the side

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Dority is retaining full guard.
Gracie content to stall in guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dority is keeping the position for now.
Gracie stands and throws Dority's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dority can't do much from the bottom here.
Gracie creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dority sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie trying to control the position but Dority is working away.
Gracie moves into full mount!
Dority keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dority is looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie fails to move to back control.

Gracie has hold of Dority's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dority manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gracie tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Gracie wants to control the pace but Dority is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dority because Gracie loaded up on that one.
Dority is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Gracie wants to take his opponent's back but Dority doesn't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gracie looking to secure an arm triangle but Dority defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffson Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Dan Dority's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

A little feinted left hand from Dority on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dority defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Dority into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dority lands a nice shot to the body.
Dority is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dority throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Dority tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Dority slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gracie throws a poor cross that misses

and Dority counters by clinching up.
Dority leaning his opponent against the cage.
Gracie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dority's efforts to push away.

Dority manages to break the clinch.
Dority swinging wildly here.
Dority displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie moves away from the strike by Dority.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Dority counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dan Dority has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffson Gracie.
Dority throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gracie! But no joy.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Dority connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dority throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gracie! But no joy.
Decent striking displayed by Dority there.

Nice sprawl there from Dority as Gracie shoots in.
A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target.
Dority wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dority doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Dority is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
A combination from Dority does no damage.
Dority scores with a jab to the head.

Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt
and Dority counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dority takes one to the chin there.
Dan Dority is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dority is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Dority circles away and we're back to standing.
Dority moves into range and connects with a jab.
Dority swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Dority defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Dority saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A jab from Gracie does it's job there.
