Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carl Ernst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zanch Boz!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ernst as he jumps to the side.

Ernst works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ernst is striking from the bottom but Boz uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Ernst is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Boz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Boz's back!

Boz manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ernst's guard. Nice work there by Boz.
Boz throws and elbow that misses. Ernst uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boz's guard. Nice move by Ernst!
Ernst might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ernst is one step ahead there.
Boz controls Ernst momentarily but Ernst frees himself.

Ernst scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Ernst decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boz fails with a takedown attempt.
Boz looks gassed!
Ernst misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ernst changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boz tries to avoid it but Ernst manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boz to the ground. Boz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A head kick misses from Boz.
Boz connects with a single shot there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ernst bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Check out the look on Ernst's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Ernst advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ernst jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Boz manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Boz wants to control but Ernst postures up.
Ernst has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ernst decides to stand up, so the ref orders Boz to his feet.

Ernst closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

You can see the frustration on Boz's face as Ernst controls the position.

Ernst tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ernst has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ernst lands a few punches from side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Boz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ernst counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Boz!
Ernst cracks Boz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ernst is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Boz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ernst wants to control the pace but Boz is squirming around nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boz is in a horrible position here. Ernst smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Ernst is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Boz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Carl Ernst overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Boz tries to hold on but Ernst postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boz is desperately trying to improve his position but Ernst has a good base and remains in mount.

Ernst has isolated one of Boz's arms. Boz looking to fight him off but Ernst twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
