Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Richardson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Barnes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A right-left combo lands from Barnes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Richardson is defended easily by Barnes.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Barnes, as that shot connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A punch lands to the side of Richardson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Richardson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A low kick from Richardson misses
and Barnes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Barnes lands a left and a right that send Richardson crashing to the mat, dazed. Barnes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Richardson is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes works the jab nicely.
Oh Richardson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Richardson shoots and misses
and Barnes counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Richardson seems to have got his legs back now.

Barnes cracks Richardson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Barnes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Richardson to stand back up!
Barnes lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Richardson is looking to close the distance but Barnes sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Richardson crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Richardson is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
