Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Monroe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Rex!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rob Rex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rex looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Rex misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Monroe gets a double leg takedown into Rex's guard.
Rex can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Monroe controls the pace.
Monroe chips away with some ground and pound.
Monroe throws a big elbow that misses.

Monroe stands up and waves to Rex to follow him.

Rex tries to keep at a distance but Monroe has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rex to keep the fight standing.

Monroe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Monroe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rex gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Monroe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Monroe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Monroe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rex for as long as he can get away with.

Monroe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've been informed that Rex has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Monroe stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Monroe dominated that round.

Monroe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Monroe lands a lovely overhand right.
