PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Junior De Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dante Silva!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

De Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
De Silva jabbing away but nothing is landing.
De Silva wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
De Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.

and De Silva counters with a left to the body.

De Silva moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Silva takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
De Silva wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
De Silva swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva just misses with a punch to the body.
De Silva moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva blocks a jab.
De Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Oooooh!!! De Silva has knocked Silva down with a huge combo! De Silva steps away and waves a wobbly Silva back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Silva is rocked!

and De Silva counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Silva! He's just covering up as De Silva starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Junior De Silva!
After the fight, Junior De Silva was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
