Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Gomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Marshall will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomas throws a body shot but no joy.
Gomas lands a nice hook to Marshall's body. Marshall takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Gomas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gomas enables Marshall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gomas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gomas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Marshall wants to pass the guard but Gomas is keeping the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marshall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Marshall is looking to advance position but Gomas has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gomas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomas looking to control but Marshall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gomas tries to stand up but Marshall had a hold of his arm and he's managed to perform a nice reversal, into half guard.

Gomas preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marshall wants to free his trapped foot but Gomas is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Marshall is thwarting Gomas's attempts to control the position.
Marshall is keen to just control but Gomas is a slippery customer.
Marshall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Marshall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomas defends it well.

Marshall wants to work for an arm triangle but Gomas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Marshall is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gomas is squirming around, avoiding Marshall's attempts to control the action.
Gomas is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Brotherhood Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gomas scores with a hook to the body. Marshall takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Gomas clobbers Marshall with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Gomas is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Gomas stuns Marshall with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Marshall fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vincent Gomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Marshall.

Gomas drops Marshall with a beautiful combination! Marshall stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gomas is looking for the KO!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gomas steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Marshall is out on his feet! Gomas sets himself and nearly takes Marshall's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
