Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor McGready (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor McGready acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Thomas Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Connor McGready!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McGready working hard to break the clinch.
Lee jumps guard but McGready stands there with Lee around his waist. Lee gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McGready wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
McGready takes an elbow to the temple.
McGready lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
McGready is trying to break the clinch but Lee is controlling him.
Lee pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
McGready gets through Lee's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
McGready lands a body shot in the clinch.
McGready is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

Lee manages to break the clinch.
McGready looks to land a right hand but Lee moved out of range.
McGready throws a hook but Lee blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGready swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lee misses with a jab to the body
and McGready counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee is looking to clinch but McGready is avoiding it.
McGready throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lee sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McGready enables Lee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McGready manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McGready preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lee throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McGready bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

Lee looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Lee pushes McGready off and gets back to his feet.
McGready swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lee moves out of range as McGready strikes.
McGready fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it.
McGready listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by McGready.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGready leaves Lee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McGready defends well and Lee ends up having to push McGready into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

McGready dodges the ground and pound from Lee.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGready can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lee cracks McGready with a big elbow.

Lee fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGready avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lee.
Lee throws an elbow but McGready slips to the side and avoids it well.

Lee is putting a hurting on McGready here, landing some big shots from side control.
Lee lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lee creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McGready sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGready as he jumps to the side.
Lee shoots in but McGready avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but McGready shows good takedown defense.
McGready tries to counter with a clinch but Lee shakes him off and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McGready sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McGready's head.

Lee wants to free his trapped foot but McGready is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lee is working hard here to advance position.
Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lee takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lee not landing any meaningful shots this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGready is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McGready avoid being mounted?
McGready tries to get to full guard but Lee has control of the leg.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McGready is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by McGready.
McGready appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGready swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McGready scores with a body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from McGready! But no joy.
Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGready as he jumps to the side.
Thomas Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from McGready as Lee shoots in.
McGready lands with a good body shot.
Lee moves away from the strike by McGready.
Lee tries for a takedown but McGready circles away easily
and McGready counters with a nice uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McGready scores with the left hand. Lee knows he should have avoided that one.

McGready is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
McGready lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lee stalling in the clinch but McGready improves position.
McGready is trying to break the clinch but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Lee throws an elbow but it misses.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGready getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


Lee is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McGready connects with a superb combination that knocks Lee out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles McGready before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Lee!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Connor McGready!
In his post fight interview, Connor McGready started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
