The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paez throws a right and a left that Peters avoids nicely.
Peters feinted with a counter takedown.
Peters tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Paez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Peters wants to clinch.
Peters shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paez as he avoids it easily.
Peters shoots for a double leg takedown but Paez sprawls well. He's pushed Peters's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Paez misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peters tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peters checks a low kick from Paez.
Paez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Peters closes the distance and pushes Paez back into the cage.
Peters tries for a takedown but Paez manages to get underhooks.

Paez pushes Peters off and gets back to his feet.
Paez throws a right hand that Peters ducks under and follows up with a left that Peters also avoids with ease.
Peters appears to be looking for a big counter.
Peters blocks a head kick by Paez.
Peters avoids a kick to the body.
Some wild striking there from Paez.
Peters throws a big counter combination but Paez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Paez counters with a nice right hand that sends Peters toppling to the canvas! Peters scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Paez finish him?!

It looks like Alonzo Peters has been cut.

Paez connects with a superb combination that knocks Peters out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Paez before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Peters!
