The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corcoran's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Corcoran duly obliges.
Corcoran looks to land a left hand but Guifre moved out of range nicely.

Guifre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Corcoran, who protects the arm well.
Guifre tries to move to mount but Corcoran blocks the move with his legs.

Guifre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Corcoran but Corcoran pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Corcoran uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Guifre has time to react.

Guifre closes the distance and clinches up with Corcoran, looking for a takedown. Guifre pushes Corcoran against the ropes but Corcoran circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Guifre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
