PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Partridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Kvasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kvasov has chosen Diskoteka avaria-Nebo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Roman Kvasov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kvasov bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Partridge's head.
Kvasov scores with a jab.

It looks like Steve Partridge has been cut.
Kvasov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kvasov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Partridge throws a leg kick that misses.

Partridge tries to move into range but Kvasov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Partridge fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
No joy there for Partridge, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kvasov throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Partridge chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kvasov can pounce on him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Partridge lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kvasov takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Partridge throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Partridge scores with a nice head shot.
Partridge fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kvasov.

Partridge misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kvasov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Partridge on the side of the head.
Kvasov misses with a few strikes there.
Partridge lands a jab to the nose.
Kvasov throws a series of punches but Partridge moves out of range.
Kvasov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Partridge.
Partridge swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kvasov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Partridge to score with a decent uppercut.
Partridge moves away from the strike by Kvasov.
Kvasov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Partridge on the side of the head.

Partridge throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Steve Partridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kvasov tries to land a leg kick but Partridge saw it coming and moves away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kvasov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Partridge has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Partridge lands with a cross.
Kvasov throws a hook to the side of Partridge's head but Partridge sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kvasov has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Kvasov drops his hands momentarily and Partridge takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Kvasov digs a good hook to Partridge's body.
Kvasov just misses with a punch to the body.
Partridge throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kvasov looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kvasov throws a hook but Partridge avoids it easily.

Kvasov lands a big head kick that sends Partridge tumbling to the mat! Kvasov takes a step backwards and waves Partridge back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Partridge throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kvasov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Partridge fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kvasov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kvasov throws a sloppy head kick and Partridge moves out of range easily.

Kvasov cracks Partridge with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

A relieved looking Roman Kvasov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
