Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik De Boer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Boer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by PSYCHO. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erik De Boer!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Boer misses with a double jab.
Wong tries to counter by moving into the clinch but De Boer manages to circle out of the way.
De Boer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

De Boer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wong on his heels. He'll look to pass Wong's guard now, I'm sure.

Wong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Boer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wong takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
De Boer feints a jab promting Wong to slip. De Boer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wong slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Jon Wong has been cut.
De Boer motions for Wong to come forward. De Boer throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

De Boer has taken the fight to the clinch.

De Boer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
De Boer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wong.
Wong takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wong moves forwards but De Boer connects with a nice, crisp jab.

De Boer drives through with a takedown into guard.
De Boer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wong lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Boer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wong with a flurry of punches that miss.

De Boer has his hands on Wong's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That kick from De Boer tenderised Wong's leg. Wong is trying to keep his angry face on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erik De Boer dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



De Boer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wong quickly recovers to half guard.
De Boer content to control rather than advance.
Wong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
De Boer is pressing down on Wong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wong is holding on for now.

De Boer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wong moves into full guard.

De Boer is looking to stand up but Wong won't let him.

De Boer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. De Boer manages to get himself to full guard.

Wong stays in close to De Boer's body and controls the position.

De Boer has his foot on Wong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wong works his way back into a safe position though.
De Boer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

De Boer tries to bum rush Wong with a series of wild strikes but Wong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in De Boer's guard.

De Boer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wong controls the pace.

De Boer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Wong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from De Boer - the referee stops the clock and Wong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says De Boer. Wong manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

De Boer feints and as Wong raises his hands in defense, De Boer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

De Boer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wong is proving hard to escape from.
Erik De Boer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Erik De Boer.
Well De Boer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
