The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kowalski. No joy for Biggie on that attempt.

Biggie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kowalski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Biggie.
Kowalski tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Biggie shoots in looking for a takedown but Kowalski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Biggie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Biggie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kowalski fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kowalski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kowalski dives in and grabs Biggie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Biggie pushes down on Kowalski's head and hops out.
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown but Biggie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Biggie wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Biggie gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kowalski counters with a left and a right that stings Biggie.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Biggie just content to control the position.

Biggie tries to pull guard but Kowalski won't allow it.
Kowalski keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Biggie's efforts to push away.
Biggie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kowalski pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kowalski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Biggie is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kowalski is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
