Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifford George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Donnely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Clifford George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Devon Donnely!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George fails with a takedown attempt.
George throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donnely's waist but Donnely gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing George off to one side.
Donnely fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Donnely fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging George to the ground. Donnely is now in George's guard.
Donnely is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donnely works over George with some ground and pound from guard.
George doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Donnely is stalling in the full guard.

Donnely stands up from George's guard - Donnely perhaps looking for a knockout.
George fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Donnely drops down looking to force a counter takedown but George defends it well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clifford George. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Donnely rushes George and presses him up against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Donnely as George tries to tie him up.
Donnely goes for a takedown attempt but George pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Donnely feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Donnely should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Donnely trying to control but George is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
George fails with a takedown attempt.
Donnely misses with a body kick.
George tries to counter with a takedown but Donnely is quick to defend against it.
Donnely looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Donnely throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Donnely bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
George is breathing heavily.
Donnely tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
George misses with a takedown attempt - Donnely sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Donnely rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but George moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Donnely misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Donnely looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

George escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Donnely gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Donnely tries a head kick but it misses.

Donnely moves into the clinch.

Donnely gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Donnely is pressing down on George's thigh, looking to free his foot. George is holding on for now.
George is trying to control but can't.

George has one foot on Donnely's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Devon Donnely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Donnely scores with a takedown into George's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Donnely trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Donnely got a little sloppy there for a moment and George has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Donnely has managed to get both his arms back between George's legs - danger averted.
Donnely stopping the sweep attempt from George.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Donnely. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Donnely has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed George clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Donnely wants to control but George is keeping busy.
Donnely controlling well, preventing George from escaping the position.

Donnely is working the ground and pound. Can George escape?


It looks like Clifford George has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
George wants to get back to his feet.
What can George do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Donnely is continuing to stall.

George is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Donnely has the hooks in. George is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Donnely is persistently looking for the submission but George is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Donnely really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for George.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Donnely working for a choke but George is defending well.

Devon Donnely showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Donnely wants the takedown. George is fighting it off but Donnely persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in George's guard against the cage.

Donnely won't allow George to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Donnely wants to control from the top but George keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Donnely clinches with his opponent.
George tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Donnely smiles and moves away.
George looks to land a combination but Donnely avoids it well.
Donnely misses with a double jab.
George is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Donnely.

Donnely is trying hard to land a takedown here. George sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Donnely swinging wildly here.
George is looking for a counter combo.
Donnely takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Donnely shoots in for a double leg but George sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
George keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
George tries to counter by clinching up but Donnely breaks away and moves out of range.
Donnely closes this distance looking for a takedown but George circles away.
Clifford George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Donnely.
George shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Donnely sprawls well. Donnely wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. George gets slowly back to his feet.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from George.
Donnely dives in and grabs George's left leg, looking for a takedown. George pushes down on Donnely's head and hops out.

Donnely darts in and clinches George up against the cage.

George changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Donnely fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice takedown defense from George. No joy for Donnely on that attempt.
George went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Donnely has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
George tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Donnely paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clifford George is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Donnely counters with a one-two to the body.

George manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Donnely on his heels. He'll look to pass Donnely's guard now, I'm sure.
George wants to stand but Donnely has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Donnely will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
George is looking to stand up but Donnely won't let him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Donnely manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. George manages to get himself to full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Donnely has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
