Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Laban Ladvik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kurt Wisdom!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ladvik forces Wisdom back against the cage and clinches.
Wisdom blocks a body shot from Ladvik.

Wisdom gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ladvik regains guard.
Wisdom lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ladvik avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

We've been hearing good reports from Ladvik's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ladvik wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wisdom keeps working.

Wisdom is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Ladvik is trying to control Wisdom's posture but Wisdom avoids it.

Wisdom darts in and clinches Ladvik up against the cage.

Wisdom turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wisdom manages to end up in side control.
Ladvik can't do much from the bottom here.

Ladvik takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Wisdom tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wisdom has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wisdom throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Ladvik works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Ladvik has one foot on Wisdom's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Ladvik looks to land a combination. Wisdom sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Wisdom tightens his grip and picks Ladvik up, before dumping him to the ground. Ladvik manages to land in guard.
Wisdom tries to free his leg and advance position but Ladvik is retaining full guard.

and Wisdom counters by moving into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wisdom has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ladvik is trying to keep an underhook but Wisdom manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Wisdom rushes Ladvik and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Wisdom has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ladvik clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Wisdom lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Ladvik.

Wisdom is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ladvik defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Ladvik is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Wisdom is controlling the position but Ladvik somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Ladvik is looking to improve his position.

Kurt Wisdom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wisdom has Ladvik pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wisdom pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ladvik tumbling to the mat - Wisdom dives into Ladvik's guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ladvik enables Wisdom to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ladvik manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kurt Wisdom spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Laban Ladvik was interviewed post fight and said 'I will get you next time!'.
