Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Norris Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Magnus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris Small has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norris Small!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Magnus!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Small circles away from the clinch attempt.

Magnus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Magnus throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Small is trying to control Magnus's posture but Magnus avoids it.
Small regains half guard, as Magnus was trying to land strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Small is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magnus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Magnus thows a huge punch but Small dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Magnus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Magnus wants to take a breather but Small is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magnus tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Magnus throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Small to regain full guard.
Small preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Magnus looking to sit in guard and control but Small gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Small wants to stand but Magnus has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Small is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Small working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Magnus's head.
Magnus pulls Small in to control the position.
Magnus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Magnus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Magnus is looking to stall here but Small recovers full guard.
Magnus throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Small avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Magnus is fighting to break Small's control of his arms but Small is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Small has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magnus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Magnus throws a strike but Small rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Small wants to control from the top but Magnus keeps moving.

Small really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Small trying to control the position from guard on top but Magnus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Magnus has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Magnus closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Small's guard.
Magnus looking to sit in guard and control but Small gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Magnus tries to close the distance and clinch but Small swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Small tries to sprawl but Magnus drives through with a takedown into half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magnus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Magnus tries to free his leg and advance position but Small is retaining full guard.
Small not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Magnus decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Magnus is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Small sees it coming and defends easily.
Magnus is trying to control the action in half guard but Small is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Small is refusing to be controlled, as Magnus sits in half guard.

Small has his hands clasped together around Magnus's back. He's all about the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Magnus tries to clinch but Small moves out of range.
Magnus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Small shoots in for a takedown but Magnus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Magnus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Magnus throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Small can't do much from the bottom here.
The strikes coming from Magnus are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Magnus tries to move to mount but Small blocks the move with his legs.
Small parries the strikes from Magnus easily there. Magnus is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Small to escape.

Magnus is looking to take a break and control but Small is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

An elbow from Magnus crashes against the mat.

Magnus decides to stand up, so the ref orders Small to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ed Magnus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Small gets caught napping as Magnus dives in and scores a takedown. Small manages to retain guard.

Magnus looks to land a strike but Small avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Magnus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Small was covering up waiting for the punch and Magnus finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Small preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Magnus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Small works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ed Magnus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Magnus trying to control the position from guard on top but Small is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Magnus is looking to work some ground and pound but Small has wrist control.
Ed Magnus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Small throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Magnus escapes and throws Small's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ed Magnus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Magnus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
