Onizuka comes to the cage accompanied by Nate Dogg - First We Pray. Santa Cruz has chosen 50 cent P.I.M.P as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santa Cruz lands a leg kick that knocks Onizuka off balance momentarily.
Santa Cruz throws out a powerful jab.
Santa Cruz is looking to land body kicks.
Santa Cruz has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Onizuka is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Some bone on bone action there as Onizuka checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Rafael Santa Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Santa Cruz.
Onizuka lands with an overhand left.
Onizuka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santa Cruz sprawls well. Santa Cruz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Onizuka gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santa Cruz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Onizuka under the eye.

It looked like Onizuka was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Santa Cruz.

and Onizuka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Santa Cruz won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Santa Cruz wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Onizuka has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Santa Cruz's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Santa Cruz is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Onizuka!
