Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 23 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Gordon Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter B misses with a series of wild punches.
Fighter A went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Fighter B looks to land a right hand but Fighter A moved out of range.

It looks like Gordon Freeman has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter A drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fighter B sprawls and moves away.
Fighter A looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fighter B is fending him off so far but Fighter A persists. Nope, Fighter B circles away and we're back to standing.

Fighter B lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Gordon Freeman has been cut.
Fighter B swings for the body but Fighter A moves out of range.
Fighter A shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fighter B counters with a one-two to the body.
Fighter B digs a good body shot into Fighter A's ribs.
Fighter A tries for a takedown but Fighter B circles away easily
and Fighter B cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gordon Freeman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fighter B takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fighter A misses with a takedown
enabling Fighter B to counter with a crisp jab.


Gordon Freeman's cut is getting worse.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fighter B misses with a shot to the body
and Fighter A counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fighter A tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fighter B swivels and escapes.
Despite the aggression on Fighter B's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Fighter B loads up on a big right hand but Fighter A slips the punch.
Fighter A is looking to counter with a body kick.
Fighter B listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fighter B defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fighter A.
Fighter B misses with a shot to the body
and Fighter B takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fighter A takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighter A is defended easily by Fighter B.
Fighter B lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Fighter A doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fighter A takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A big left from Fighter B misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fighter A fails with the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gordon Freeman dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fighter B swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Fighter A changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fighter B tries to avoid it but Fighter A manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fighter B to the ground. Fighter B escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fighter B throws a counter combo.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fighter B as he avoids it easily.

Fighter B scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fighter A doesn't seem bothered though.
Fighter B looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fighter B connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Fighter B clobbers Fighter A with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fighter B sprawls well. Fighter B wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter A gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter B looks like he wants to counter punch here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B gets caught flat footed, as Fighter A shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fighter B keeping moving, preventing Fighter A from controlling successfully.
Fighter B wants to improve his position but instead Fighter A has moved into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A prevents Fighter B from standing back up.

Fighter A is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fighter B sees it coming and defends easily.

Fighter A is working for a kimura but Fighter B is defending it quite comfortably.
Fighter B really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter A. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fighter A wants to take a breather but Fighter B is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fighter A is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fighter B wants to improve his position but Fighter A is controlling well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter A is keen to just control but Fighter B is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gordon Freeman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fighter A closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fighter B circles away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Fighter A or perhaps it was just good defense by Fighter B, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gordon Freeman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter B goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Fighter A decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fighter B can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fighter A is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B is trying is best to control the position here.

Fighter A looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Fighter A is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fighter B doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fighter A.

Fighter A is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gordon Freeman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fighter A seems to be looking for submissions.
Fighter B wants to get back to his feet.
Fighter A throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter A is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fighter B sees it coming and defends easily.
Gordon Freeman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Fighter A throwing shots but Fighter B is blocking nicely.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gordon Freeman.
I think Fighter B has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
