The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Kai Man counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Gusmao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kai Man paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kai Man looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gusmao shoots in looking for a takedown but Kai Man manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gusmao's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kai Man is pressed up against the cage. Gusmao has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kai Man down to the mat. Kai Man avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gusmao shoots in looking for a takedown. Kai Man tries to sprawl out of it but Gusmao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kai Man manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gusmao has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kai Man.
Gusmao closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kai Man quickly recovers to half guard.
Gusmao will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kai Man lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Kai Man has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
