Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Hendry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iain Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendry comes into the arena with Scotland The Brave blaring out of the sound system. Reilly has chosen Dubliners - Fields of Athenry as his entrance music. Iain Reilly has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alistair Hendry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Iain Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hendry.
Hendry swinging wildly here.
Hendry misses with a jab, cross combination.
Reilly tries to bum rush Hendry with a series of wild strikes but Hendry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice defenses there by Reilly.
Reilly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hendry looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hendry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Iain Reilly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hendry takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reilly has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Reilly works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hendry goes for a double leg but Reilly avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Reilly continues to drive forward.

Reilly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hendry's waist but Hendry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reilly off to one side.
Alistair Hendry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iain Reilly.
Reilly shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hendry sprawls well. Hendry wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Reilly gets slowly back to his feet.

Hendry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reilly sprawls well initially but Hendry persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Reilly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hendry throws a strike but Reilly rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hendry pushes Reilly off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
No joy there for Reilly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reilly throws a series of punches but Hendry moves out of range.
Reilly throws a right hand that Hendry ducks under and follows up with a left that Hendry also avoids with ease.

Reilly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reilly lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hendry has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Reilly has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Iain Reilly will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hendry shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reilly but Reilly pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've been hearing that Hendry has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hendry is in close to Reilly's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Reilly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hendry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hendry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
