Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adrian Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalton Pease!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pease looking to score a takedown here. Stokes is defending well but Pease drives through and ends up in Stokes's guard.
Pease content to stall in guard here.

Stokes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pease stacks Stokes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pease!
Stokes gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Stokes is trying to stand up here but Pease is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stokes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pease enables Stokes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pease manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pease scoring with punches to the head and body.
Pease stands up over Stokes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Stokes won't allow Pease to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pease passes to side control.
Pease is looking to take a break and control but Stokes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Stokes has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Pease escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Pease!

Pease is putting a hurting on Stokes here, landing some big shots from side control.

Pease has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stokes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Pease tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Stokes sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Well, if Pease is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Pease is looking for a kimura but Stokes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pease to get the leverage.
Pease seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pease is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pease feints and as Stokes raises his hands in defense, Pease changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stokes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pease gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pease with a nice head shot there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dalton Pease showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Pease has taken the fight to the clinch.

Stokes is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pease is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Stokes to the mat. Stokes regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Pease chips away with some ground and pound.

Stokes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pease gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pease forces his way into half guard.

Stokes tries to roll over but Pease keeps him under control.
Pease wants to pass to mount but Stokes is defending the position.

Pease stands up and beckons Stokes to join him on the feet.
Stokes pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Pease raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Stokes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pease's guard.
Pease wants to get back to his feet but Stokes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stokes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stokes wants to control from the top but Pease keeps moving.

Pease manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pease misses with the combination.

Pease throws a head kick but Stokes moves out of range.
We've been informed that Pease has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Stokes blocks a head kick by Pease.
Stokes feinted with a counter takedown.
Pease misses with a wild body shot.
Stokes tries to counter with a takedown but Pease is quick to defend against it.

Pease shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pease showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pease gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Pease feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stokes is looking for a triangle but Pease pushes his legs off easily.
Stokes being controlled here, momentarily.

Pease postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stokes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pease, into his guard.

Pease manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stokes manages to get himself to full guard.

Pease slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Pease is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Pease is continuing to stall.
Pease trying to control the action but Stokes is working from the bottom.

Pease is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stokes has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dalton Pease comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pease has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
