Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lamont Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Blake!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blake.
Murphy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Blake misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Murphy seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Murphy swings for the body but Blake moves out of range.

Blake closes the distance and clinches.
Murphy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Murphy misses with a body punch.

Murphy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murphy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Murphy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blake gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blake is looking to work some ground and pound but Murphy has wrist control.
Blake seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Blake trying to control the position from guard on top but Murphy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Murphy trying to keep a closed guard but Blake is proving a slippery customer.
Blake trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Blake missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Murphy working for submissions but it's allowed Blake to get to half guard.
Murphy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murphy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Blake pulls his head out easily.

Blake is working for a kimura but Murphy is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Blake is still trying to improve position.

Blake missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Murphy tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Blake has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Murphy srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.

Blake is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Murphy knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Murphy for a finish.
Murphy just trying to survive but Blake is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Murphy breaks Blake's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Blake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murphy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murphy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Blake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murphy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blake is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Blake dominated that round.
That's time! Murphy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Blake moves into range and clinches up with Murphy.

Blake gets control of Murphy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Blake will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Murphy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Blake pushes Murphy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A head kick misses from Blake.
Murphy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blake dodges the punch combination from Murphy.
Murphy avoids the head kick by Blake.

Murphy tries to keep at a distance but Blake has taken the fight into the clinch.

Murphy manages to break the clinch.

Murphy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blake, pushing him back against the cage.
Murphy fails to pull guard.
Blake is trying to force a seperation but Murphy has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Blake's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Murphy tries to pull guard but Blake won't allow it.

Blake pulls guard effortlessly.
Blake controls Murphy momentarily but Murphy frees himself.

Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blake tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Murphy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Blake controls Murphy momentarily but Murphy frees himself.
Murphy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Blake has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Murphy throwing strikes but missing.

Blake working for a triangle but Murphy defends it easily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Murphy gets caught napping as Blake dives in and scores a takedown. Murphy manages to retain guard.

Murphy throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Murphy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Murphy is trying to control the position but Blake postures up.

Murphy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Blake stacks Murphy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Blake!

Murphy tries to bench press Blake off him but Blake keeps the position.
Murphy is holding Blake down, trying to stall.

James Blake has got the better of the ground game so far.
Blake tries to advance to mount but can't.
Murphy wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Murphy stops Blake from passing to mount.
Murphy is not content to let Blake control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Murphy is throwing a few token shots, despite Blake being in side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Blake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Blake darts in and clinches Murphy up against the cage.
Blake tries to land knees in the clinch but Murphy avoids the damage to the body.

Murphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Murphy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Blake looks to throw a body kick
and Murphy counters with a one-two to the body.

Blake bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Murphy is trying to escape the position but Blake is controlling the position.
Murphy manages to get back to half guard.
Blake prevents Murphy from improving his position.

Blake seems to be working for a kimura but Murphy defends the submission attempt.
Blake blocks the strikes from Murphy.

Murphy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murphy keeps working.
Blake is taking a breather. Murphy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Blake shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Murphy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Blake has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Murphy is proving hard to escape from.
Blake wants to pass the guard but Murphy is keeping the position.

Murphy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Blake wants to control from the top but Murphy keeps moving.

Blake moves into the clinch successfully.
Blake wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Blake tries to break free but Murphy pushes him back against the cage.

Murphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blake misses with a few strikes there.
Murphy is looking for a counter combo.

Blake tries to keep at a distance but Murphy has taken the fight into the clinch.

Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Blake drags the fight down to the ground.

Murphy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murphy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Blake looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Murphy has picked Blake up and slammed him! Blake can't keep hold of the triangle and Murphy manages to pass to side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Murphy wants to control but Blake is keeping him busy.
Lamont Murphy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James Blake is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Blake tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

James Blake comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Blake winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
