The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juarez scores with a spinning back kick!
Juarez throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith is looking to counter the offense by Juarez and move into the clinch.

As Juarez looks to move away, Smith throws a big counter combo bu Juarez just gets out of the way.

Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Juarez walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juarez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Juarez darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Juarez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Smith can't fight it off and eventually Juarez manages to take the fight to the floor. Smith looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Juarez wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
