Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nickolas Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Whiting!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whiting shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duke pinned against the cage. Duke gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Whiting shoots in for a takedown but Duke shows good takedown defense.
A little feinted left hand from Duke on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Duke stuffs the takedown.
Nickolas Duke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Whiting.
Whiting throws a right and a left that both miss.
Duke tries to clinch but Whiting is having none of it.

Whiting drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whiting trying to control the position from guard on top but Duke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Whiting is trying to keep Duke in close.
Whiting looking to control but Duke passes into half guard.
Whiting is trying to stand back up but Duke is controlling him
Duke throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Whiting throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duke's waist but Duke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Whiting off to one side.
Duke loads up on a big right hand but Whiting slips the punch.

Whiting can't break the clinch.
Duke wants a takedown but no success here.

Duke breaks from the clinch.

Whiting closes the distance and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Whiting jumps into guard, dragging Duke to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Whiting dominated that round.
That's time! Duke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Duke keeps control of Whiting as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Whiting has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Duke jumps guard but Whiting turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Whiting is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Duke to keep the fight standing.

Whiting tries to stall but Duke uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Duke is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Whiting wants to take the fight to the mat but Duke manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Duke manages to break the clinch.
Whiting tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Duke avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whiting with a poor takedown
enabling Duke to counter with a crisp jab.
Whiting is breathing heavily.

Whiting clinches up with Duke and pushes him back against the cage.
Duke wants a takedown.

Duke's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Horrible takedown attempt by Whiting or perhaps it was just good defense by Duke, which made it look bad.

Duke was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Whiting darts in and clinches Duke up against the cage.

Whiting ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Whiting no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Duke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Whiting is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Duke, into his guard.

Duke is looking to control Whiting's arms but Whiting gets an underhook and turns him. Now Duke has his back to the cage.

Whiting is working for takedown but Duke is calmly controlling the position for now.
Duke wants to take the fight to the mat but Whiting manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Whiting pushes off an throws an elbow but Duke leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Duke tries to score a body lock takedown but Whiting shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Whiting jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Duke walks away with a smile on his face. Whiting gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Duke doesn't manage to clinch there - Whiting circles away.
Whiting shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Duke counters with a straight right hand.
Duke wants to clinch.
Whiting is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Whiting tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Duke defends well and Whiting ends up having to push Duke into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Whiting goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Whiting fails with the takedown.
Whiting throws a body punch but Duke moves out of range.

Whiting gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Whiting has Duke pressed against the cage, preventing Duke from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Whiting tries to circle away but Duke has him pinned against the cage.

Eric Whiting comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Whiting has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
