The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira moves to clinch but San breaks away
and San counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cristian Ferreira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
San tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ferreira defends well against a solid takedown attempt from San.
San shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferreira but Ferreira pushes him off and we're back to square one.

It looked like San was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by San as Ferreira tries to tie him up.
San has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ferreira is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
San could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferreira is defended easily by San.
San darts in looking for a takedown but Ferreira gets double underhooks and turns San into the cage.

Ferreira lands a big head kick that sends San tumbling to the mat! Ferreira takes a step backwards and waves San back to his feet - he wants the finish!
