Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Avon Barksdale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marat Tandelov!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Barksdale.
Barksdale throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Tandelov staying out of range there.
Tandelov looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Tandelov shoots in but Barksdale avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barksdale throws a looping overhand right but Tandelov ducks down to avoid it.
Barksdale ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tandelov moves away.
Barksdale shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tandelov pinned against the cage. Tandelov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tandelov blocks a jab.
Barksdale shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tandelov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Barksdale is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tandelov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Barksdale tries to score with some ground and pound. Tandelov controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Tandelov is trying to control Barksdale's posture but Barksdale avoids it.

Barksdale thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Barksdale creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tandelov sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Barksdale working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
You can see the frustration on Tandelov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Barksdale has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barksdale has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Tandelov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Barksdale yanks on the arm and Tandelov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Barksdale.
