Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Hull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hull.

Rodriguez moves into the clinch.
Hull wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage.

Rodriguez manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodriguez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hull sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hull wants to get up but he can't break Rodriguez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hull is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rodriguez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Rodriguez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rodriguez has a closed guard, preventing Hull from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown
and Hull counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rodriguez shoots for a double leg takedown but Hull sprawls well. He's pushed Rodriguez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rodriguez looks to land a body kick but Hull moved away.

Hull wants to stand but Rodriguez is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hull stands and steps away. Rodriguez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hull closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rodriguez's guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rodriguez enables Hull to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rodriguez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hull got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodriguez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hull has managed to get both his arms back between Rodriguez's legs - danger averted.
Hull is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rodriguez has a closed guard, preventing Hull from standing up.
Hull engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rodriguez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rodriguez lands in his opponent's guard.

Hull is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rodriguez has his hands clasped together but Hull extends and breaks Rodriguez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hull.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chuck Hull!
