Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Magnus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magnus has chosen One More Night as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Calvin Magnus!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris rushes Magnus and presses him up against the cage.
Harris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Magnus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Harris manages to break the clinch.

Harris clinches with his opponent.
Magnus goes for a takedown attempt but Harris pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Harris has Magnus up against the cage in a clinch.
Magnus trying to stall but Harris improves his position.
Magnus wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Harris has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris successfully pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Magnus with a flurry of punches that miss.
Harris wants to get back to his feet but Magnus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harris is on top in guard.

Harris decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Magnus, up you get!
Magnus fails with an attempt to clinch.

Harris has taken the fight to the clinch.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Harris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Magnus goes for a takedown in the clinch but Harris prevents it.

Harris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Harris clinches up against the cage.

Harris ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Harris no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Harris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Harris is controlling Magnus's posture.

Harris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Magnus prevents Harris from getting back to his feet.
Magnus trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris working for a triangle but Magnus defends it easily.
Harris throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Magnus wanted to stand there but Harris had control of the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Magnus tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Harris makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd cheers as Harris lands an impressive looking overhand right. Magnus doesn't seem phased though.
A slapping leg kick lands for Harris.

Harris closes the distance and clinches.

Harris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Magnus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harris swivels and escapes.
Conor Harris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calvin Magnus.
Magnus fails with an attempt to clinch.

Harris has managed to clinch.

Harris breaks from the clinch.

Harris clinches up with Magnus and pushes him back against the cage.
Magnus looking to stall.
Magnus wants a takedown.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Magnus tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Magnus takes a kick to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harris clinches.

Harris pulls guard successfully.
Harris is looking to stand up but Magnus isn't so interested in that idea.

Harris has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Magnus has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Magnus prevents the takedown attempt.

Magnus jumps into guard, dragging Harris to the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magnus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Harris stands up from Magnus's guard - Harris perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Conor Harris dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


An inside leg kick from Magnus misses.
Harris tries to clinch but Magnus is having none of it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Harris, right into the meat.

Harris has taken the fight to the clinch.

Harris's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Harris drives through and clinches with Magnus against the cage.
Magnus stalling in the clinch but Harris improves position.

Harris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Magnus wants to stand and escape but instead Harris has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Magnus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Harris throws a counter high kick but Magnus was just alert enough to avoid it.

Harris fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Magnus, pushing him back against the cage.
Magnus tries to stall but Harris uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Harris breaks from the clinch.

Harris closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Harris jumps guard and drags Magnus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Harris has his hands on Magnus's head, controlling the position.
Harris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harris looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Magnus has picked Harris up and slammed him! Harris can't keep hold of the triangle and Magnus manages to pass to side control!
Harris is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Harris is looking to control Magnus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Harris avoid being mounted?

Harris has one foot on Magnus's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Magnus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Harris clinches up against the cage.
Conor Harris has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Magnus is trying to force a seperation but Harris has the dominant position.
Harris has Magnus pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Magnus manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Harris seems keen to control Magnus's posture.
Harris controls Magnus momentarily but Magnus frees himself.
Harris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Magnus can do to turn this around?

Magnus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It looked like Harris was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've been told by Harris's head coaches at The Pitbull Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Harris bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Magnus is breathing heavily.

Harris drives through and clinches with Magnus against the cage.
Magnus gets underhooks to prevent Harris's takedown attempt.

Harris decides to pull guard.

Harris pushes Magnus off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick by Magnus misses
and Harris counters with a two punch combo.
Magnus wants to clinch up but Harris keeps it at a distance.
Magnus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Harris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Conor Harris dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Magnus doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
Magnus takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Harris drives through and clinches with Magnus against the cage.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Harris fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Magnus on the side of the head.

Harris manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Harris pulls Magnus in close to his closed guard and prevents Magnus from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Harris throws a one two combo.


It looks like Calvin Magnus has been cut.
Magnus on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Harris. Harris obviously looking to wear him down.
Magnus moves in looking to clinch but Harris pushes him off.
Magnus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Magnus shoots in but Harris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harris tried to counter with a leg kick but Magnus avoided it.
Magnus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Magnus takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Harris keeps the fight on the outside.

Magnus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Magnus wants to clinch but Harris slips to the side
and Harris counters with a one-two to the body.
Magnus takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Calvin Magnus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Harris instigates a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Conor Harris showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Harris has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
