Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vince Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Melcher!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melcher has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Banner.

Banner clinches.
Melcher wants to break free but Banner has control.
Banner is pushing Melcher up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Banner tries to land knees in the clinch but Melcher avoids the damage to the body.

Melcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Melcher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Vince Banner.

Banner lands a big head kick that sends Melcher tumbling to the mat! Banner takes a step backwards and waves Melcher back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Good leg kick by Banner there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Banner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Melcher can do to turn this around?

Banner drops Melcher with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Melcher looks back up at him and smiles so Banner waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Banner creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Melcher! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Banner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vince Banner!
A very excited looking Vince Banner made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated Jon Melcher had this to say: 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.
