Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luis Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Vien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Axel Vien!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vien misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vien throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cruz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cruz.
Cruz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cruz trying to control but Vien is working from the bottom.
Cruz won't allow Vien to sweep him here.
Cruz is working Vien over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Vien is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cruz drops back looking for a leg! Vien is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vien manages to kick Cruz off! Cruz jumps back into Vien's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cruz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cruz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cruz wants to control from the top but Vien keeps moving.
Vien can't keep his opponent in guard - Cruz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Vien really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cruz prevents Vien from improving his position.
Cruz is nestled in close to Vien, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cruz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cruz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vien sees it coming and defends easily.
Cruz is looking to take a break and control but Vien is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cruz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vien is staying active underneath Cruz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Cruz wants to pass to mount but Vien is defending the position.

Vien has his hands clasped together around Cruz's back. He's all about the action.
Cruz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Vien is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cruz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cruz wants to work for an arm triangle but Vien is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cruz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Vien defend it? Cruz steps over the head and cranks it - Vien is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cruz!
