Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmitt Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramos Mendonca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramos Mendonca will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon dives in and grabs Mendonca's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mendonca pushes down on Dixon's head and hops out.
Mendonca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dixon moves away.

Dixon is trying to get back to full guard.
Dixon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mendonca has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mendonca connects with a nice short shot to Dixon's temple.

Mendonca is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Mendonca has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dixon takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mendonca's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

After the fight, Ramos Mendonca was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
