The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown but Thane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacobs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Thane looks to land a combination but Jacobs avoids it well.
Jacobs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thane can do anything to dispel that myth.

Thane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jacobs moves away.

Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown. Thane tries to sprawl out of it but Jacobs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jacobs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thane pinned against the cage. Thane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Thane. Jacobs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thane throws a sloppy head kick and Jacobs moves out of range easily.
Jacobs seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Thane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jacobs momentarily.

Thane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jacobs is pushing down on Thane's leg trying to pass to half guard. Thane is fighting to maintain full guard but Jacobs has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jacobs shoots for a double leg takedown but Thane sprawls well. He's pushed Jacobs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Thane is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jacobs rather than just go for the knockout.
Jacobs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thane is fending him off so far but Jacobs persists. Nope, Thane circles away and we're back to standing.

Thane connects with a combination that backs up Jacobs into the cage. Thane lands a flurry of punches that gets past Jacobs's guard. Jacobs is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Thane bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
