Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Country (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrell Myrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Country!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyrell Myrell!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Country is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Myrell's half guard.
Myrell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Country tries to pass to full mount but Myrell defends it.
Country missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Myrell tries to roll over but Country keeps him under control.
Country moves nicely into side control.
We've been hearing that Country has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Myrell is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Country trying to control the action but Myrell is working from the bottom.

Country looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Country working the ground and pound from side control.
Myrell is trying to get back to half guard.
An elbow from Country crashes against the mat.
Myrell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Country wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Myrell can't do much from the bottom here.

Country thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Country wants to lay and pray for a moment but Myrell keeps working.

Country swings around for an armbar but Myrell sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Country's guard.

Country working for a triangle but Myrell defends it easily.
Country is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Country working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Myrell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Myrell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Myrell postures up.
Myrell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Country is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Country wants to stand but Myrell is controlling the position.
Country might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Myrell slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Myrell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Country keeps working.
Myrell prevents Country from standing back up.
Country trying to control here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
My spies in Warrior Dogs inform me that Myrell has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Myrell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Country is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Country shoots in for a double leg but Myrell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Country moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMyrell.
Tyrell Myrell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Country tries for a takedown but Myrell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Country avoids the head kick by Myrell.
Myrell misses with a low kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Myrell scores with a four punch combination!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nelson Country will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Country fails with a takedown attempt.


It looks like Nelson Country has been cut.
Country shoots and misses

and Myrell counters with a head kick that drops Country to the mat! Country scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Country is rocked!
Myrell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Myrell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Myrell wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nelson Country. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Country has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Myrell finds it's way round the side to connect with Country's head.
Nelson Country is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Country moves out of range of the leg kick from Myrell.
Country is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myrell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Country.
Myrell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Country moves away.

Country looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Myrell!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Myrell sneaks back into half guard.

Country is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Myrell is just riding it out for now. Country eventually gives up the hold.
Myrell wants to control but Country is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Country missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Myrell preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Country is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Myrell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Country.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Country is trying to control the action in half guard but Myrell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Myrell tries to get to full guard but Country has control of the leg.
Myrell keeping hold of Country's head, controlling as best he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Myrell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Country scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Myrell is looking to control Country's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Myrell avoid being mounted?

Country wants to work for an arm triangle but Myrell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Myrell controlling the position well.
Myrell moves into full guard.

Myrell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nelson Country overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Myrell has control of Country's left arm, preventing Country from doing any damage.
Let's hope that Myrell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Country throwing strikes but missing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nelson Country will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Nelson Country's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


A jab from Myrell misses.
Myrell keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Country looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Myrell tried to score with a low kick but Country checks it.
Myrell scores with a push kick.
Country shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Myrell as he avoids it easily.
Myrell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Country has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Country shoots for a double leg takedown but Myrell sprawls well. He's pushed Country's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Myrell, right into the meat.

Myrell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Country to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Myrell preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Myrell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Country is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Country trying to control but Myrell is working from the bottom.
Country in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Country throws a big elbow that misses.
Myrell wants to sweep but no luck.
Country trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Myrell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Country moves away from the strike by Myrell.
Country throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Myrell's waist but Myrell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Country off to one side.
Myrell was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nelson Country. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Country shoots in looking for a takedown. Myrell tries to sprawl out of it but Country keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Myrell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Country checks the leg kick nicely there.
Country is looking to counter the offense by Myrell and move into the clinch.
Myrell is looking to chop away at Country's legs.
Country is looking to counter with a body kick.

Myrell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Myrell wants it to stay on the feet.
Myrell throws a counter combo.
Country shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Myrell pinned against the cage. Myrell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Country is trying hard to land a takedown here. Myrell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Country shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Myrell as he jumps to the side.
Myrell appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Tyrell Myrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Country dives in for a single leg takedown but Myrell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Myrell throws a leg kick which misses Country's front leg but catches the back leg as Country tries to avoid it.
Country tries to score a power double leg takedown but Myrell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Country somewhat.

Myrell lands a big uppercut and Country crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Country looks OK. Myrell waves Country back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Country fails with a takedown attempt.
Country darts in looking for a takedown but Myrell gets double underhooks and turns Country into the cage.
Myrell is looking for the big counter here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Country stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Myrell.
Myrell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Country shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Myrell defends it nicely.

Tyrell Myrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Country has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
