Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Borhan Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Five Finger Death Punch as his entrance music. Tom Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan checks a leg kick nicely.
Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A big right from Smith misses.
Khan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Khan, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Khan against the cage but Khan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Khan seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Khan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.

Khan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Smith wants to control but Khan postures up.

Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Khan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Khan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.

Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Khan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Smith has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Khan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Khan tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Khan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Khan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Khan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smith sprawls and moves away.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khan pinned against the cage. Khan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Borhan Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Smith.
Khan moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Khan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Smith throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tom Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Khan moved out of range.
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Smith throws a jab when Khan was well out of range.
Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.

Smith has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Khan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Khan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Khan sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Khan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Khan has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Khan has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Khan pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!
