The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Nascimento looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gracie tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nascimento keeps working.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nascimento has escaped the position, nice work there.

Nascimento knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Nascimento is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gracie creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nascimento sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
