The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vieira closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vieira is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yanez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Vieira is trying to ground and pound but Yanez uses the momentary lack of control by Vieira to regain half guard.
Vieira wants to take a breather but Yanez is having none of it.

Vieira is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vieira is looking to take a break and control but Yanez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Yanez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yanez tries to get out of the position.

Vieira is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yanez defends it well.

Vieira has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Yanez defend it? Vieira steps over the head and cranks it - Yanez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Vieira!
