Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanxho Falafel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Cabrera had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sanxho Falafel!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Falafel misses
and Cabrera counters with a three punch combo that has Falafel backing up. Falafel nods at Cabrera to acknowledge the strikes.
Falafel tries to clinch up.
Falafel fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cabrera shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cabrera wants to stand up but Falafel has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Falafel is trying to stand back up but Cabrera is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Falafel is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Cabrera jumps into side control!
Cabrera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Falafel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Falafel can't do much from the bottom here.

Falafel is looking to reverse the position.
Falafel is trying to control Cabrera's posture but Cabrera avoids it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Falafel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cabrera closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Falafel misses with a double jab
and Cabrera counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Falafel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cabrera manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Falafel misses with an uppercut
and Cabrera counters with a left and a right that stings Falafel.

Falafel dives in and scores a takedown into Cabrera's guard.
Cabrera wants to stand and escape but Falafel is having none of it.
Falafel trying to control but Cabrera is working from the bottom.

Cabrera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Falafel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cabrera throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Falafel wants to control from the top but Cabrera keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cabrera scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Falafel is looking to clinch.

Falafel shoots in and gets a takedown into Cabrera's guard.

Cabrera pushes Falafel off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Falafel throws a head kick that misses

and Cabrera holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Falafel looks winded!

Cabrera has clasped his hands together around Falafel's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Falafel tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Falafel tries to hold on but Cabrera postures up.
Cabrera sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Falafel tries to control the position but Cabrera now has his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Cabrera dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Falafel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Falafel throws a chopping leg kick but Cabrera manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Falafel fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cabrera checks it well.
Falafel throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cabrera counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cabrera.
Cabrera's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cabrera stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Falafel tries to break free but Cabrera pushes him back against the cage.

Cabrera gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cabrera is looking for a kimura here.
Falafel flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cabrera wants to get back to his feet.
Cabrera is taking a breather. Falafel says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cabrera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cabrera sitting and controlling from the half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Falafel is looking to get back to is feet but Cabrera passes into side control.

Falafel trying his best to control but Cabrera has mounted him.
Cabrera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Falafel is just holding on here. Cabrera manages to take his back.
Falafel wants to get back to his feet.

Falafel tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Cabrera has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Falafel is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
