The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hansson tries to sprawl but Nelson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nelson wants to free his trapped foot but Hansson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Nelson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Nelson avoids the attempt from Hansson to control.

Nelson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hansson has worked his arm free - good work by Hansson!
Nelson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hansson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nelson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Nelson wants to control but Hansson is keeping him busy.
Hansson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Nelson has hold of Hansson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hansson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nelson cranks the arm and Hansson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hansson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
